WHY THIS COURSE

The ankle & foot can be considered the foundation of the body AND the foundation of our standing asana.  Despite this, it's an often neglected area of the body leading to misalignment and dysfunction.  

In this course, you will learn the structures that form the ankle and foot and how they all combine together to provide the enormous level of function we typically take for granted.  Everything in this course will assist you as a yoga teacher to understand your students better and more effectively help them through yoga practice.

THE ANKLE & FOOT COURSE

This version of the ankle and foot course is aimed at those with little or no previous experience in yoga anatomy.  

By the end of this course, you will have learnt:

  • key anatomical structures of the ankle and foot
  • how to assess the ankle and foot in a static position and during movement
  • how to align the ankle and foot in the common asana
  • harmful movements and those with can greatly benefit 
  • how to strengthen the foot and ankle and overcome common issues

Static Assessment

In this clip taken directly from the course, I explain what to look for when assessing the ankle and foot from the back.  Using a student with good alignment, I explain what key things you should look for when considering the heel, Achilles tendon and the inner arch.

Course Content

This 3-hour course includes 2hrs 15mins of video presentations, as well as quizzes to help you test your knowledge as you progress.
